update from Bay State CX
this update from the Bay State Cyclocross Race , Race # 11 in the New England Cyclocross Championship Series held in Sterling Mass….
Jeremy Powers (Cannondale/Cyclocrossworld.com) and Series Leader Dan Timmerman (Richard Sachs/RGM Watches) from Ithaca NY, broke away from the field of Elite Men early in the race and quickly created a sizable gap from all chasers. Justine Lindine (Bikereg.com) from Maplecrest NY made a heroic charge in lap 3 to bridge to the duo of J-Pow and Grizzly Dan as the two front leaders backed off their blistering pace and took turns charging into the 30 mile per hour winds. But Justine was unable to hang and fell off the pace again. Powers kept the pressure on and put small but incremental hurts into Dan Timmerman’s race to stay on Jeremy’s wheel. With one lap to go it was all Jeremy Powers, Dan Timmerman was second and Justin Lindine came in third. Josh Dilllon (Richard Sachs/RGM Watches) was fourth, young Will Dugan (Richard Sachs/RGM Watches) was 5th. Nathaniel Ward (Bikereg.com) unofficially top ten.
Emma White (CBRC) pulled back a big deficit in her race and finished third in the Women’s 3/4 Race. Curtis White (Cliff Bar Developmental Team) suffered a couple mechanicals yet finished strong and rode well. Liz Lukowski (NYcross.com/VO Max) did battle in the Women’s 3/4 race and did the NYcross.com Team proud. Tim Janson (RPI Cycling) reported a top 20 finish in the Men’s speedy Cat 3 race.
